HPP has partnered with DXC Inspire in its donation drive for the victims of the Taal Volcano eruption. On January 19, 2020, Inspire volunteers led by Marj Encarnacion, were able to bring relief goods to Taal victims in Lipa, Batangas and Alfonso, Cavite. Through DXC Inspire, HPP was able to donate a total of P55,000.00 to the much needed relief effort and feeding program.

"We would like to thank Inspire for allowing us to be part of this worthy cause", said Kathryn Salangsang-Garcia, HPPEMC Chairperson. "And we look forward to future partnerships where we can be of help in the community", Salangsang-Garcia added.

In its desire to somehow alleviate the effects of the recent eruption of Taal Volcano, the HPP Board has approved to offer INTEREST-FREE loans to members who have been severely affected by the calamity.

Term: 12 months

Interest Rate: 0%

HPPEMC CEO Val Hilario said that many members have been affected by the recent eruption of Taal Volcano and that the Coop is here to help.

"Our Cooperative exists precsely to help members in times of need. I know many of our members have been affected by the recent eruption of Taal volcano and we're glad to inform everyone that HPPEMC is now ready to extend financial assistance to those who were directly afftected," Hilario said.

"We understand that P20k may not be enough for some but it should be a big help in times like this. Other loan products are available if needed  Members just need to let us know that their loan application is due to the Taal emergency and we'll make sure to expedite the process," Hilario added. The special Taal Loan may be used for house repairs, ash fall cleanup, and others.

HPPEMC has luanched Tulong Taal, a call for donations for the victims of the recent Taal Volcano eruption. Donations may be deposited directly to the coop office or via the HPP Mart Online. Members who haven't spent their HPP Christmas Gift Coupons yet may donate them to Taal victims. As we head towards the end of 2019 and into the new year, let’s take a quick look back at what we have accomplished. 2019 has been quite a year for all of us at HPP Coop. For one, we will be ending the year with more than P60M in Asset in just 5 years of operation, making us one of the most admired cooperatives in the country!

For that, I would like to thank all the officers and volunteers who gave their time and talent to help bring us where we are today. Thank you for all your contributions the past year and for always striving to put the interest of the members above your own.

Of course, we would like to thank all the members for their support and patronage. Thank you for believing in the Cooperative. You inspire us to go on.

Here are some of what we have accomplished this year.

• Released more than P40M worth of loans – a 25% increase vs year ago. You may not realize it but you have helped hundreds of members in their financial need, some of them are actually life-and-death situations.
• Damayan Benefit Claims – we were able to provide burial assistance to 16 members who lost a dependent.
• Multipurpose Cooperative Status – the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) has approved our application to become a multipurpose cooperative. This will allow us to expand to other businesses apart from savings and loans.
• Inclusion of other IT/BPO Companies – with the approval of our amended bylaws, the CDA has allowed us to accept employees of other IT/BPO companies to join HPP Coop as Associate Members. This has been another milestone as we welcomed our first IT/BPO company, ITSM Corporation, as part of HPP Coop.
• Increased Capitalization – with our continuous growth, we had to increase our Authorized Capitalization from P10M to P100M.
• 1CoopHealth: The HPP HMO Plan – we’ve launched our HMO Plan targeted at providing affordable healthcare for members and their families.
• Family Members as Associate Members – HPP Coop now accepts family members to join as “Honorary Members” allowing them to take advantage of some benefits of being with HPP Coop, e.g. 1CoopHealth.
• Online Birthday Loan Application – as part of improving services to members while at the same time allowing us to streamline our processes, the Birthday Loan Application has been made available online. This significantly reduced average turnaround time to just 24 hours.
• HPP Life Plan – to assist members with unexpected death in their family, HPP Coop has made available some memorial services plans that members can avail at pre-need costs.
• HPP Mart Online – launched of the eCommerce site where members can avail of products at discounted prices.
• Marketing and Testimonials Videos – created videos to help market HPP Coop to other employees and as well as other IT/BPO companies who may benefit from being members of the Cooperative.
• ANCI Distributorship – signed a distributorship agreement with Amazing Nature Care International to market their Stevia herbal products.
• Launch of DxCoffee Plus – to promote members’ physical wellness, HPP Coop has launched its own healthy coffee brand. DxCoffee Plus is a 5-in-1 coffee mix with health benefits and without the harmful effects of sugar.
• Website Upgrade – we’ve upgraded our website to make it easier for members to navigate. The Member Feedback section allowed for better engagement among members.
• HPP Mobile App for IOS – we’ve made the HPP Mobile App available for iPhone users.
• Gawad Parangal Nominee – HPP Coop was recognized by the Cooperative Development Authority - Manila Extension Office (CDA-MEO) during the Gawad Parangal Awards held at the Winford Hotel in Manila on Oct 17, 2019. The CDA-MEO has cited HPP Coop saying that its "best practices, good governance and application of cooperative standards build a social consciousness to the vital role of cooperatives".
• Best Performing Cooperatives – HPP Coop has been recognized as one of the Best Performing Cooperatives for 2019 by the City of Taguig during the Cooperative Month Culminating Program held at the SM Aura on October 25, 2019.
• LEARN Program – our “LEARN to EARN” program continued with the conduction of a Lazada Workshop where members and dependents were taught how to become a Lazada seller.
• Christmas Gift Coupons – in appreciation of members’ continued support, HPP Coop has distributed gifts to all Members in Good Standing in the form of Christmas Gift Coupons which they can redeem from the Coop’s eCommerce site, HPP Mart Online.

Those are just some of the things we’ve accomplished this year. And with our elevation to multipurpose cooperative status, coupled with your continued patronage, our momentum will surely continue in 2020 and beyond.
